About Coder Trader

Hi, I'm Dongmin Park — a Korean software engineer based in Ingolstadt, Germany. With over 10 years of hands-on trading experience across global markets, I'm currently in a research and documentation phase, sharing the frameworks and lessons I've accumulated over the years.

Why I Built This Blog

After a decade of active trading — through multiple bull markets, crashes, COVID volatility, and several crypto cycles — I've reached a point where I want to step back, reflect, and document what I've learned.

Most trading blogs are written by influencers claiming daily wins. This blog takes a different approach: a research archive from someone who has done the trading and is now organizing the lessons.

The trading education space suffers from two problems:

  1. Influencers selling "signals" without ever showing verifiable long-term results
  2. Complex strategies presented without the discipline of rule-based execution

Coder Trader is my public archive: rule-based frameworks, historical chart analysis, and Pine Script tools — all grounded in years of practical experience.

The International Perspective

Trading Korean and American markets while living in Germany has given me an unexpected advantage: the more physical distance you have from a market, the less emotional you become about it.

This natural detachment forced me to build systematic frameworks — because I couldn't watch every tick anyway. That discipline shaped everything I share on this blog.

My Trading Background

  • Korean Securities Account — opened in 2016, with 10+ years of equity and derivatives trading history (KOSPI stocks, ETFs, and US options through Korean brokers)
  • Upbit Account — opened in 2020, with 6+ years of cryptocurrency trading experience across BTC, ETH, and select altcoins
  • Futures Trading — MNQ (Micro Nasdaq) contracts through international brokers
  • Trading Style — 100% rule-based frameworks, applied across multiple market cycles
  • Current Focus — Documentation, framework refinement, and Pine Script tool development

My Professional Background

  • Software Engineer with 15+ years of experience in embedded systems, spanning automotive and defense industries
  • Programming Languages — Python, C, C++, C#, Pine Script
  • Career Journey — Started my software engineering career in Seoul, South Korea. Relocated to Ingolstadt, Germany in 2022 to continue working in embedded systems for European automotive and defense projects
  • Currently based in — Ingolstadt, Germany 🇩🇪
  • Origin — South Korea 🇰🇷 (born and raised)

Content Philosophy

Every post on this blog follows these principles:

  • Rule-based frameworks only — no discretionary "gut feeling" trading
  • Grounded in real experience — a decade of active trading across market cycles
  • Historical chart analysis — with detailed annotations and reasoning
  • Lessons from failure — my losses taught me more than my wins
  • Pine Script code shared publicly on GitHub, so you can verify and modify
  • Engineering rigor applied to trading — testable, repeatable, documented

What You Won't Find Here

  • ❌ "Guaranteed" strategies or unrealistic return promises
  • ❌ Signal services, paid Discord groups, or subscription "insider tips"
  • ❌ Live trade calls or predictions about specific markets
  • ❌ Copy-paste strategies from other creators without deep analysis
  • ❌ Vague "market feel" analysis without measurable rules
  • ❌ Financial advice tailored to your personal situation (see disclaimer below)

What Makes This Blog Different

Most trading blogs are written by full-time traders trying to sell their next signal, or by marketers with no real trading experience. I'm neither.

I'm a software engineer who spent a decade applying engineering discipline to markets, and I'm now organizing that knowledge in one place. This blog is my public research archive, not a live signal service.

This means:

  • 🔧 I approach trading the way I approach software problems — testable, repeatable, documented
  • 📚 Content focuses on frameworks and principles, not predictions
  • 📊 Analysis uses historical charts and public data, freely accessible to all
  • 💡 The value is in the thinking process, not the specific trade
